LONDON -- British supermarket giant Tesco has launched at two-week trial of a virtual grocery store at one of the UK's busiest airports. The virtual shopping center allows travelers to make productive use of their downtime.

The interactive supermarket in the departure lounge at the Gatwick airport is comprised of 10 screens. Shoppers start by downloading the Tesco app onto their smartphones. They then select from the supermarket's top 80 items by scanning the products' barcodes with their handsets. Finally, customers can arrange to have their groceries delivered to their homes up to three weeks after their departure.

Tesco launched a similar concept in South Korea last summer, where commuters can shop for groceries by pointing their mobile phones at billboards in subways and bus stops. | SEE STORY
