Joe Webster, office coffee service NASHVILLE, TN -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has announced that Joe Webster, founder and chief executive of Newco Enterprises Inc. (St. Charles, MO) has been voted its Coffee Legend for 2013. The award will be presented this week at NAMA's Coffee, Tea and Water conference here.

Presenting honors at the awards ceremony will be CT&W co-chairmen Pete Tullio, Gourmet Coffee Service (Van Nuys, CA), and Howard Fisher, U.S. Roasterie (Des Moines, IA). The Coffee Legend award honors longtime industry members who have proven themselves innovators, pioneers and visionaries, passionate about coffee and eager to communicate that passion to others in order to help them succeed.

Newco, founded by the Webster and Vittoe families in 1974, was formed to meet the perceived need for replacement coffee brewer parts in the then-new coffee service industry. Over the nearly four decades since then, Newco has developed a broad line of its own equipment, a loyal customer base and a solid reputation in the OCS and foodservice industries.

"Joe Webster is an excellent choice as this year's Coffee Legend," said Roger Stewart, NAMA's director of coffee and water service. "He has instilled a family-oriented, customer-driven culture that is active every day at Newco. The company employs 160 associates who are known for their ability to deliver high-quality products and beverage solutions to customers."

"This is really an award for all of Newco. I'm proud to work with these folks every day," Webster said in acknowledging the award.
