ST. LOUIS, MO -- Crane Merchandising Systems said it has formed a strategic partnership with USConnect, a nationwide network of independent full-line vending operations that has adopted a management doctrine based on wireless wide-area communications in order to improve profitability.
Crane recalled that USConnect's optimized delivery and shared-services model has incorporated Crane's (Streamware) VendMax suite as its preferred vending management software system since the group was organized in 2012. | SEE STORY
"With the introduction of Crane Cashless and its fixed, low rates, USConnect companies will benefit from increased cost savings while continuing to leverage enhanced functionality," Crane predicted. That functionality includes integrated alerts, complete cashless reconciliation, remote DEX and cashless ROI analysis made possible by pairing Crane Cashless with the VendMax VMS.
"As a company that strongly promotes technology-based solutions for the modernization of the vending and food service industry, we are always seeking the right technologies and partners to enhance our business model, and drive value for our customers and the end consumer," said USConnect president Jeff Whitacre of Food Express/Atlanta Vending (Charlotte, NC). "The implementation of VendMax, Navigator [the Media line's built-in telemetry device] and Crane Cashless have provided a solid foundation for many USConnect affiliates -- including my two vending operations.
"Through this strategic partnership, we are able to provide our affiliate companies with affordable access to an intuitive and powerful VMS, an incredibly reliable cashless solution and the most innovative machines in order to transform the vending industry," Whitacre continued.
The majority of USConnect affiliates run VendMax, Crane said, and new affiliated operations implement it every month. Moreover, USConnect affiliates who purchase Crane's new Media-platform machines will benefit from the telemetry and cashless capabilities integrated into the machine, and from the Media system's built-in retail tools.
"Cashless is such a vital aspect of our industry's growth and it offers the incredible potential to positively affect same-store sales and new business, yet much of the industry remains understandably apprehensive," said Brad Ellis, president of Crane Merchandising Systems. "USConnect's commitment to deploying cashless and leveraging technology to change not only the consumer experience in vending, but also the economics of vending for the operator, is fully aligned with our vision and strategy for the future."
