WASHINGTON -- The National Restaurant Association has named Matt Walker vice-president of government affairs. He will lead the association's advocacy strategy in the Senate, and support efforts directed at the House of Representatives and the Obama administration.
Prior to joining the association, Walker worked in Congress for 14 years, most recently as the deputy staff director and chief counsel of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and senior aide to former Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine).
Previously, Walker practiced law at Pierce Atwood, a leading New England firm. He also has restaurant experience working in various establishments over six years.
