KANSAS CITY, MO -- Hostess Brands LLC has appointed William Toler president and chief executive. He previously served as chief executive of Cincinnati-based AdvancePierre Foods and president of Pinnacle Foods.
Toler succeeds longtime Hostess executive Rich Seban, who most recently served as its president and chief operating officer. Seban has been appointed Hostess Brand's vice-chairman.
The company, formerly Hostess Brands Inc., announced in 2012 that it would shut down its business and sell its brands and factories in a bankruptcy liquidation. In 2013, a bankruptcy judge granted Hostess permission to sell most of its snack cake brands to C. Dean Metropoulos's private-equity firm, Metropoulos & Co., and Apollo Global Management. Metropoulos, formerly the chief executive of the new Hostess Brands, remains chairman of the company.
