ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions has announced the appointment of three executives to its headquarters here. Rosaria Leong joins IAAPA as controller, Kavita Avasthi as manager of accounting and human resources, and Molly Fernandes as marketing director.
Leong began at IAAPA in February after serving seven years with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization where she was a senior accountant and controller. Prior to that, she worked for Halt, Buzas, Powell CPAs as an accountant in the outsourced services department. Leong now has overall responsibility for IAAPA's financial records, including ledgers and statements.
Avasthi served as an accounts payable and payroll specialist for the Children's Defense Fund, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit. At IAAPA, she will implement employee compensation and benefit programs, and manage day-to-day accounting programs, including payables and receivables. Avasthi has worked in human resources and accounting since 2006.
Fernandes served 10 years in various capacities at Consumer Electronics Association where she was involved with member relations and CES show marketing. At IAAPA she will oversee the development and implementation of marketing initiatives and campaigns for the association's programs, products and services, including event promotions.
Avasthi and Fernandes also joined the association in February.
