LONDON -- British snack food maker Walkers, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, has installed vending machines at three London bus stops where travelers can get a free bag of chips in exchange for a Twitter post.
The bus stop venders feature an image of BBC football host and soccer legend Gary Lineker along with a code that visitors tweet to @Walkers_busstop to receive their free bag of chips. (See exclusive photos at MailOnline.)
The marketing stunt, which will have venders online until Sept. 10, is part of the Walkers "Do Yourself a Flavour" competition, which invited consumers to suggest new flavors of crisps. The six finalists -- Sizzling Steak Fajita, Cheesy Beans on Toast, Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce, Ranch Raccoon, Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup and Chip Shop Chicken Curry -- are available from the vending machines for the public to try.
Customers are invited to vote for their favorite flavor online. The winner of the competition will be announced in October and be rewarded with a £1million prize.
