LAS VEGAS -- Your best bulk idea could win you $300. The National Bulk Vendors Association's seminar program at the upcoming Amusement Expo here will offer a chance to win $300. The Most Innovative Operator award will be presented on the spot.

The contest is the brainchild of seminar chairman Matt Miller of Marzs Vending (Stephenville, TX), who is also the moderator of the Most Innovative Operator-Best Ideas seminar, which will be held at 2:45 p.m. All NBVA seminars will take place on Mar. 25 at the Las Vegas Hotel in Pavilion 6. The program kicks off at 9 a.m. with a welcome address from NBVA president Steve Schechner.

According to Miller, who was last year's winner, an award-winner idea could address a wide variety of subjects. Last year's presentations included how to employ price points to increase margins and revenues. Miller's winning talk focused on getting back to more wholesome merchandise. Once again, seminar participants will vote for the best idea.

"The idea is to get operators up there to share what they've been doing and pass on the best practices to others," Miller told Vending Times.

Miller has also expressed enthusiasm for this year's complete lineup of seminars. "It's going to be the most comprehensive seminar schedule we've ever had," he said. "This year, they've been given enough time to be a huge part of the conference. Operators can not only learn about the latest and greatest products on the show floor, but they can also learn how to do what they do more profitably."

The 2014 NBVA meeting and trade show are collocated with the Amusement Expo. March 25's seminars are followed by a two-day trade show on March 26 and 27.
