SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI -- New from Johnsonville Sausage are sausage and gravy stuffed biscuits, designed primarily for grab-n-go foodservice operations. The product is a good fit for early and late afternoon "peak snack times" and breakfast.
Featuring a flaky buttermilk crust surrounding Johnsonville sausage with gravy, the stuffed biscuits are shipped and stored frozen, then refrigerated for display and sale. Typical microwave reheating takes 50 seconds.
Available for manual foodservice operations is a Johnsonville-branded display warmer that can merchandise as many as 24 of the wrapped sandwiches. Johnsonville reports that the biscuit maintains its tender texture for up to four hours in the warmer.
