Texas Police Clamp Down On Massive Eight-Liner Ring

PEARLAND and BROWNSVILLE, TX -- Pearland police said six members of a crime ring in this Houston suburb were indicted on Aug. 24, with three individuals facing money laundering charges and the others confronting illegal gaming charges.
The indictments stemmed from raids earlier this year on half a dozen local eight-liner gamerooms operated by the ring. During those raids, law enforcement officers seized games, vehicles and "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in cash. | SEE STORY
Separately, two Brownsville operators were arrested on gambling charges. Brownsville police seized $8,000 in cash and 102 eight-liners in two raids on Aug. 24, according to a report in The Brownsville Herald. Officials said more arrests are possible as a result of a continuing investigation.
