AUSTIN, TX -- Eon Corp. and MEI Inc. (West Chester, PA) said that they have entered into a cross-license agreement relating to some of their respective patented technologies for vending machine telemetry.

Eon Corp., founded in 1986 as TV Answer, holds several patents relating to transmission methods for interactive video and data over fixed and mobile wireless networks. The Austin, TX, company licenses its technology to businesses involved in wireless telemetry, mobile communications and interactive video.

MEI's Easitrax vending management software and hardware solution enables remote machine monitoring through telemetry. The company has the largest installed base of unattended payment systems, handling over 2 billion transactions a week in more than 100 countries. MEI has reportedly sold more than 4 million bill acceptors and 5 million coin mechanisms worldwide.
