LAI's New Operator Controls Puts Game Diagnostics Onscreen

CARROLLTON, TX -- LAI Games is adding a new onscreen diagnostics menu to its new amusement games, which include Piñata and Color Match. The enhancement allows operators to quickly set up a game, and has programming and servicing provisions; settings are made by using a game's player controls.

SEARCH TERM

According to LAI, the intuitive menu all but eliminates the need for a user manual, providing easy access to audit and error data, as well as program payouts. A "cheat sheet" guides operators through the functions, the number of which varies from game to game. For instance, Color Match, a prize merchandiser, lets operators program the initial setup and prize payout levels during each of the four stages of play.

"Our proprietary onscreen menu makes game setup a breeze. It takes operators through all setup and payout options with an explanation for each," explained LAI's Allison Timberlake. "After the game is up and running, operators can easily view audit data such as player activity and errors."

The system, Timberlake added, is designed to work with conventional displays or touchscreens, in all resolutions, orientations and aspect ratios. At present time, one of the games currently in development features a touchscreen that will host the system. And for some functions, the touch interface provides an even more intuitive user experience while maintaining operational continuity with existing games.

LAI plans to include the interface settings menu on all its future games. It also plans to include linkable and remote functions.
