WATERBURY, VT -- Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. wants to change its name to Keurig Green Mountain Inc. to put emphasis on its famous single-cup brewing system. The new name is subject to shareholder approval at the Waterbury, VT, roaster's annual meeting in March.

Green Mountain acquired Keurig in 2006 after initially taking a small stake in the Boston-based coffee machine manufacturer. It was the first roaster to package its coffees in K-Cups for use in the single-cup brewers.

Green Mountain Coffee will remain the brand name for the company's roasted coffee. Sales of Keurig brewers and accessories and K-Cups accounted for 92% of Green Mountain's $4.4 billion in revenue in fiscal 2013.
