HONOLULU -- Hawaii is one of two states that not only has no casinos, but also has no state lottery. But the Aloha State does have videogame sweepstakes arcades, operating under names like Winner'z Zone.

Local media have recently trumpeted the sector as "Vegas style gaming."

Honolulu's KHON Channel 2 reported that the island of Oahu currently supports at least 15 sweepstakes venues with another half-dozen coming and "plans to expand to neighboring islands." | SEE STORY

KHON said Honolulu police and the FBI are aware of the electronic sweepstakes games, but had no comment on the activity's legal status.

Utah is the other state that does not have a lottery or casinos.
