HIGH POINT, NC -- Microtronic US reports that it now is one of the merchants on the Key Ring app, allowing subscribers to use a card stored in the app with Microtronics' new micromarkets. Smartphone users need only download the app, then scan their barcode cards and select Microtronic in the list. This done, they are ready to use their phones at the micromarket.
The KeyRing service stores "electronic replicas" of loyalty, membership, reward and other cards for access through a single app. It's described online at keyringapp.com, and can be downloaded for iOS or Android devices.
Microtronic's newest line of micromarkets also incorporates a camera, so users can see themselves on the kiosk's screen when checking out. The operator has the option of recording screen activity, which can be streamed though one of the DVR channels. According to Microtronic, this is an added feature to enhance security at micromarket locations.
Microtronic noted that it has a $95 per month micromarket support fee, and credit card processing fees of only 1.65% (3¢ per swipe). Operators have the option of requiring a minimum purchase for credit and/or debit card transactions, and of adding a surcharge to offset the fees. Microtronic markets also offer payroll deduction purchasing, if the location desires, and can accommodate barcode and RFID cards; these also can be used at the location's vending machines, at the operator's discretion.
