DALLAS -- Leisure and Allied Industries has completed a major reorganization that consolidates Embed, LAI Games and the Locker Network under a new umbrella company called Helix Leisure. Officials said the reorganization would enable the Helix units to "leverage their combined strengths and global reach, and [create] a seamlessly integrated product offering, while preserving each of the individual brands." The restructuring became effective on July 1.

The three companies will continue to operate under their established brand names and retain their R&D teams. Embed provides POS systems for entertainment venues, LAI manufactures amusement games and the Locker Network offers electronic networked lockers. They are now subsidiaries of Helix Leisure.

Theo Sanders, who became chief executive of LAI Games a year ago, has been named chief executive of Helix Leisure. Adam Steinberg remains executive director of Leisure and Allied Industries.

"In our increasingly connected world, there is a greater expectation for a seamless user experience," Steinberg said. "We feel that combining the LAI Group businesses that deliver products, services and systems to the industry will enable us to create even greater value and meet those expectations."

Perth, Australia-based Leisure and Allied Industries, also known as the LAI Group, will operate its family entertainment chain, Timezone, as an independent division. Leisure and Allied Industries was founded by Malcolm Steinberg in 1958.
