BURBANK, CA -- A vending machine deployed last week in a shopping mall here may be the first of its kind to dispense some of the world's finest caviar.
Operated by Beverly Hills Caviar, the touchscreen vender at the Burbank Towne Center also boasts a selection of truffles and escargot, along with bottarga, blinis, gourmet salts and mother of pearl plates and spoons.
Vend prices for the delicacies range from around $50 to $500, and it's $4 for a spoon.
Beverly Hills Caviar, which claims to offer the largest variety of fresh caviar and ship it anywhere in North America, followed the unveiling of its inaugural machine with the launch of two more in high-end Los Angeles malls (Westfield Century City and Westfield Topanga) just in time for Black Friday.

This is not the first time the pricy fish eggs have been vended. Two years ago an entrepreneur in Moscow set out several dozen machines around town. At the time, those machines vended the gourmet treats in tins and jars for prices that topped out at about $25.
