GLENDALE, CA -- Wachtor Electronics has opened a branch office in the greater Los Angeles area to improve vending equipment sales and service for West Coast customers.
Wachtor distributes full-line vending equipment made by Automated Merchandising Systems, SandenVendo and Fastcorp, along with money-handling lines from Standard Change-Makers and Rowe (which belongs to AMI Entertainment). It also repairs bill validators, coin mechanisms and control boards for vending, retail and gaming equipment.
Larry Wachtor began the business in 1981 as an MEI service center in Salt Lake City. Servicing a wide variety of coin and bill acceptors, it expanded by opening a branch in Kent, WA, in 1990. In 2008, the company expanded again, sending Dan Wachtor to focus on the vending market in northern California. Keith Callahan has joined him and is managing the new Glendale, CA, facility.
AMS regional managers Tom Hutchison and Richard Smith recently visited the new office to show their support and offer some sales and technical assistance. Several area vending operators present during their visit expressed their pleasure with the establishment of a local distribution center.
"This is a great step for Wachtor and for us," said AMS president Sharon Shull. "Congratulations to Larry Wachtor and his staff."
