ALEXANDRIA, VA -- May 30, 2013 -- IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013, owned and produced by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), is the premier global event for the attractions industry. Attractions professionals from all over the world will experience the industry's newest products and innovations, learn about the industry's latest strategies and techniques, network with peers, and make new business-changing connections.

Highlights of IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013 include:

Prominent Industry Leaders to Speak:

Some of the biggest players in the attractions industry will share their extensive industry knowledge throughout the week. President and CEO of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company Matt Ouimet will speak at the GM and Owners' Breakfast; president of Walt Disney World Resort George Kalogridis will speak at the Lunch and Learn; Chief Executive of Ocean Park Corporation Tom Mehrmann, Managing Director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach Amanda Thompson, and President of Jungle Rapids and former IAAPA Chairman of the Board Bob Rippy, will all serve as panelists at CEO Speak -- a discussion on leadership philosophy.

New Education Sessions:

More than 80 education sessions will take place, including Restore the Shore, a session explaining how attractions in the northeast United States are recovering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy; Shopped, a hands-on session on merchandise display strategies and best practices; Connecting the Dots of Employee Motivation: Yes, it WILL Work for You!, a session explaining employee incentive; Connecting with Mobile Marketing and Apps, a session on reaching target demographics through mobile technology; and Legends and Their Legacies: The Authors Speak Out, a session featuring Disney Legends Marty Sklar and Jack Lindquist, as well as Tim O'Brien, VP of Communications at Ripley Entertainment, as they explore the wisdom and methods of some of the industry's great achievers.

Experiences at Premier Venues and Attractions:

Some of Orlando's most exciting attractions will be on display during IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013 events. Disney at Dawn will give Expo attendees a behind-the-scenes view of Disney's Epcot park operations as well as the ground-breaking MagicBand and My Magic+ tools Disney Parks and Resorts has developed to take its guest experience to the next level. IAAPA Celebrates at SeaWorld Orlando will take place at Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, SeaWorld Orlando's newest and largest addition.

IAAPA Theater: After the tremendous success of last year's events, the IAAPA Theater returns to the show floor as the site of the Kickoff Event, Opening Reception, GM and Owners' Breakfast, and the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards.

More than 25,000 attractions industry professionals from 100 countries are expected to participate in IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013. More than 1,100 exhibiting companies will display the latest products and services in categories such as food and beverage, rides, entertainment, midway games, inflatables, play equipment, novelties, souvenirs, and more.
