AUSTIN, TX -- Local law enforcement officers in Cameron, Wood and Bell counties collectively raided 19 eight-liner arcades between late February and early April, seizing games and making arrests.

Wood County sheriffs seized more than 100 eight-liner machines in raids on just three establishments, promising action against other locations.

In Bell County, city cops in Killeen arrested three operators on organized crime charges on March 20, pursuant to a Feb. 27 raid on a single location.

Cameron County officials did not seize machines or issue gambling charges, but closed 15 eight-liner locations on violations ranging from health code issues to failure to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
