BRISTOL, PA -- Megatouch LLC has released version 3 software for its Megatouch Live platform, which powers ML-1 videogame terminals. The latest software simplifies the player menu and other features on the multi-touch amusement gaming system.
The brand new player menu incorporates familiar elements of Ion, a legacy touchscreen system, while retaining Live's advanced functionality, the videogame maker explained. Major components of Megatouch Live, including Game Categories, Tournamaxx Classic and Jukebox, are now recognizable at a glance, making menu navigation logical and simple.
"We redesigned the menu from top to bottom," said Megatouch products and marketing director Bill Layne. "We took a good, hard look at what happened with the original Megatouch Live menu design. We learned what confused players and what players liked, and found a way to combine the legacy Ion look with the fresh look of the Megatouch Live."
According to Layne, Megatouch received positive feedback on the V3 menu from operators at March's Amusement Expo in Las Vegas. "They are very happy with the changes we made, and so are we," he said. "Now the menu is so simple, anyone can use it."
Additionally, the V3 update optimizes the platform's control panel, which will enable faster system setups for operators. It also simplifies signup for a Megatouch Live player account by reducing the process to a single page. The company said when players use one of these accounts, which manage score histories, leaderboards and social media integration, machine earnings can increase by 60%.
Megatouch Live V3 follows version 2.8, which improved system speed and introduced selectable screen sizes. | SEE STORY
