MUMBAI, India -- An Indian company has unveiled what it's billing as the world's first vending machine to brew a cup of fresh tea at the touch of a button. Users select from a variety of classic Assam, masala or green teas and can add real, aseptically packaged milk and sugar to taste.
In contrast to other vending machines in the Indian market, which dispense tea made from instant tea powder with added sugar and powdered milk, Dlecta Food Pvt. Ltd.'s machine infuses tea leaves. Dlecta claims to have patented technology for its automated tea brewing process.
The machine can reportedly dispense tea in 30 seconds, and up to 400 cups a day (or between service cycles). It can also brew coffee and prepare soluble products like hot chocolate and soups.
Dlecta said it plans to target the hotels, offices and commercial complexes with its new tea vender.
