ShiftyLook, a unit of Namco Bandai Group, set up a free-play retro arcade at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel during Comic-Con. Speedy's coordinated procurement, transportation and installation for the equipment, and provided support and service during the event.
ShiftyLook, based at Namco Bandai headquarters in Tokyo, takes older Namco franchises and makes webcomics based on them. It also creates original webcomics. Its retro arcade at Comic-Con showcased such classic titles as Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Rolling Thunder, Galaga and Xevious, as well as currently available games such as Tank! Tank! Tank!, Pac-Man's Arcade Party and Pac-Man Battle Royale.
Wood Dale, IL-based Speedy's One Stop Repair Service originally was founded by Namco Cybertainment Inc. to support its own equipment. It presently offers expert technical services to game operators nationwide.
San Diego Comic-Con has been held annually since 1970. It is the largest of some 10 similar celebrations of popular culture organized and attended by fans.
