Tour of Exploratorium Included in San Francisco Conference

Alexandria, VA -- February 14, 2014 -- -- When a company's story and mission resonates with the public it can increase brand awareness, create loyal customers, and drive business. IAAPA Leadership Conference 2014 will help attractions industry professionals discover, convey, and leverage their stories through educational tours and informative presentations March 5-7 in San Francisco, California. The event includes a visit to the recently relocated Exploratorium for insights into its "learn by doing" philosophy that encourages guests to build their own stories with the museum.

Leaders from amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, museums, science centers, zoos, aquariums, and attractions industry suppliers will take guided tours of the Exploratorium's six main galleries, experience some of the more than 650 original interactive exhibits, and learn about the museum's approach to inquiry-based learning.

"IAAPA Leadership Conference attendees will see firsthand how the Exploratorium's business model encourages guests to move from passive consumer of information to active explorers of the natural and technological worlds," said IAAPA President and CEO Paul Noland. "Each guest then incorporates what they learn into their own worldview and ultimately creates his or her own story with the museum."

In April 2013, the Exploratorium moved to San Francisco's downtown area, closer to other tourist destinations. The new location, Pier 15, allows the museum to further integrate itself into the community by hosting local events and inviting groups from nearby neighborhoods to experience the attraction.

IAAPA Leadership Conference 2014 also includes informative visits to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, and the San Francisco Zoo, as well as a keynote speech from Roger Gould, creative director, theme parks, Pixar Animation Studios.
