SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Apriva said that its point-of-sale gateway processed transactions worth $2 billion in the third quarter of 2012. During the first three quarters, the gateway handled about $5.91 billion in transactions, compared with $5.14 billion for the same period last year.
One of the company's products is Apriva Vend, an end-to-end cashless vending service that combines hardware, software, network connectivity, payment-processing services and back-office tools. It is delivered to vending operators as a monthly service through select merchant acquirers.
"We're pleased that the strength Apriva demonstrated in the first half of 2012 is continuing through the balance of the year," said Apriva president Paul Coppinger. "The POS business continues to perform well across all lines. The core gateway business remains very stable, and we are also experiencing solid growth in both our mobile payments and unattended payments activities."
Coppinger said the company is planning to introduce additional solutions, but he did not provide details.
